Facebook’s NPE(New Product Experimentation) team has launched another app to mow down Tiktok’s supremacy in the music industry. After a successful launch of Instagram Reels & Collab(Facebook’s another collaborative app for musicians), Facebook is set to target budding rappers. The Bars app allows users to create their raps on premade beats, and with the help of built-in tools. The app is akin to TikTok and only available for closed beta testers.
Bars app comes up with different tools based on your rapping skills. You can write lyrics and Bars will help you to put them in rhythm. The basic concept behind this app is to let aspiring rappers show their talent on a totally different platform. The interface of Bars akin to TikTok, where you’ll find two-tabs feed, one is for featured & the second is for the people you follow. The app has thousands of premade beats on which rappers can rhyme their own written raps.

Unlike TikTok, Bars will rhyme your words on those beats for you(if you want). However, creating lyrics will be the work you’ve to do without getting help from Bars or anyone else. Bars app not only suggests rhyme but also suggests video filters & audio effects that accompany your rapping videos. I know these features sound amazing. But still, developers’ insatiable craving to entice a new audience didn’t end up there as they’ve also added an autotune feature to enhance your voice.
In the Bars app, users can use “Challenge Mode“, where you can go freestyle and challenge yourself. This feature definitely adds a little gaming element to the app. But it works fine and could help rappers to cultivate their rapping skills as well as attract people like me who just want to test my unsung rapping skills without letting anyone know.

Bars Apps: A Perfect App for Budding Rappers

As I said earlier, Bars have come up solely for rappers but that doesn’t mean that people who love bathroom singing can’t use this app. Bars allow users to upload up to 60 seconds long video which can be saved and shared on other social media handles. The “Challenge Mode” is definitely for bathroom singers who never doubt their singing.
Moreover, if you love someone’s singing then you can appreciate them by giving fire(double-click feature). It works like Instagram Reels’ like button that puts a heart on their videos or images. Moreover, one can follow his/her favorite rappers like TikTok, and then you’ll start seeing posts related to them.

If you’re a hardcore rapper who kept replenishing his/her skills. Then “Challenge Mode” is here to help as it throws random words from which you’ve to create raps like a boss. The release of the Bars app was highly affected by the Pandemic. Because many rappers weren’t able to show their skills to the world. But now, Facebook has come up with something new for all the rappers around the world.
However, Bars is restricted to only a bunch of people in the US. And people with iOS devices are the only ones who can choose beta testing of this Rapping app. But Facebook is working hard to make this app available globally. So stay tuned and be ready for the next big update from Facebook’s Bars app.
